Flag football registration begins

Registration for Hillsboro’s Saturday morning flag football for kids in first through sixth grade continues through Aug. 24.

Games will be played starting at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 24 through Oct. 22 at Hillsboro Sports Complex.

Teams will include both girls and boys but will be separated by grade level — 1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th, and 5th and 6th.

A $30 fee included a T-shirt.

Hillsboro rec director Doug Sisk is looking for people interested in coaching or refereeing. He’s available at (620) 947-3490 and recreation@cityofhillsboro.net.

The rec commission also is sponsoring martial arts classes at 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and yoga classes at 8 p.m. Mondays.

Cost is $40 a month for martial arts and $5 a session for yoga, with the first class free.
