Florence alumni
from ’43 to ’17 gather

More than 125 alumni, guests and teachers, representing classes from 1943 to 2017, attended Florence’s 121st annual alumni banquet May 27 at Florence Gymnasium.

The group is thought to be the state’s oldest continuously meeting alumni group.

Classes of 1947, 1952, 1957, 1962, and 1967 received special recognition. Mike Robinson from the class of 1967 was master of ceremonies.

Florence High School Alumni Association awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Krisde Robinson. Last year’s recipient, Sydnee Baldwin, talked about her first year of college.

Reilly Reid, class of 1965 and commander of the Florence VFW post, served a meal.

Next year’s banquet is scheduled for May 26.
