Flu activity heavy in Kansas

Kansas Department of Health and Environment reports influenza is widespread throughout the state.

Three deaths have been attributed to the virus so far. On average five to 20 percent of the U.S. population will contract the flu.

KDHE urges residents six months of age or older to get vaccinated to prevent further spread of the virus.

Vaccines can be received through local doctors’ offices or at Marion County Health Department. Contact (620) 382-2550 for more information about vaccines and their availability.
