Four Marion County law enforcement agencies arrested five people in Peabody on a variety of charges during the late-night hours of March 2 and early morning hours of March 3.
Alexis Worthington of Newton was arrested March 2. She was charged with criminal damage to property and possession of methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia. She was booked into Marion County jail early on March 3.
Officers from Peabody Police Department, Marion Police Department, Marion County Sheriff, and Kansas Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism executed two search warrants on March 3, in the city of Peabody at 107 W. Sixth St. and at a recreational vehicle in the alley behind a residence at 203 N. Elm St.
Matthew Kangas and Charles Miles, both of Peabody, were arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamines, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Shawn and Molly Stahlheber, Peabody, were arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession and intent to sell or distribute marijuana and methamphetamines, and aggravated child endangerment.
Four children were placed into emergency foster care.
An unrelated incident earlier in the day March 2 also was drug-related. A routine traffic stop was conducted and all four occupants in the car were arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Two were juveniles who were taken to juvenile intake.
Alexandra Lewis and Colton Glenn, both 18, were both taken to Marion County Jail.
