Former resident to lead FFA foundation

Former Tampa resident and one-time Tabor College communications director Beth Gaines has been hired as executive director of the Kansas FFA Foundation in Manhattan.

Gaines, now a resident of Westmoreland, was communications coordinator for the Red Angus Association of Kansas and director of communications for the Kansas Department of Agriculture after leaving Tabor in 2013.

Before that, she was editor of Grass and Grain newspaper and editor of Texas Hereford magazine.

Her job involves securing funding for scholarships, leadership enrichment programs, and recognition awards for Kansas FFA members and agriculture education programs.
