Four from Marion
picked for band, choirs

Four Marion High School music students have been selected to participate in the South Central District Honor Band and Choirs of the Kansas Music Educators Association.

Olivia Smith, was named to the Class 1-4A Honor Band. Maria Carlson was named to the treble choir and Allie Harshman and Jaxon Salsbury to the mixed choir.

Vocal music teacher Shyla Harris and band teacher Steven Glover drove their students to auditions Nov. 8. The district groups were announced lastweek. State groups will be selected after district concerts have concluded Dec. 6.

The band will be performing at Maize High School, and the choirs at Maize South High School.
