Frank Stika

Frank W. Stika, 83 of Tampa, passed away Monday evening, July 14, 2014, at his home.

He was born April 24th 1931 in rural Pilsen, the son of Martin and Bessie (Vlk) Stika. He married the love of his life, Anna Mae Sader, June 2, 1956, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ramona. She survives of the home.

Frank was a hard worker and worked on various farms. He also worked for Roehrman’s Lumber in Hope, Welch’s Manufacturing in Ramona, and Exide Battery Factory in Salina, retiring in 1993.

In his retirement, he helped drill wells for Backhus Well Drilling of Tampa.

He served as the fire chief and city councilman in Ramona. He was the caretaker of Lewis Cemetery and took care of the maintenance of the Lutheran Cemetery in Tampa. He also did custodial work at the Senior Center in Tampa.

As busy as he was, he still found time to do what he really loved, which was fishing, polka dancing, and most of all spending time with his family.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Anna Mae, of the home; two daughters, Lori Moldenhauer and husband, Thomas, of Abilene and Lisa Hanschu and husband, Ronnie, of Ramona; two grandchildren, Nicole Stenzel of Manhattan and Anna Weber of Lindsborg; two brothers, Ron and Jim Stika of Wichita; and a sister, Rosalie Rudolph of Marion.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, James Weber, and parents.

Funeral services for Frank will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 18, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Herington with the Rev. Troy Slater officiating. Burial will follow at Lewis Cemetery in Ramona.

Family will receive friends at Carlson-Becker Funeral home in Hope from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday A prayer service will follow at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be given in Frank’s name to the donor’s choice. Memorials may be dropped off or mailed to Carlson-Becker Funeral Home 106 N 2nd St, Hope KS 67451.
