Franklin “Dale” Hodges, 74, longtime resident of Ponca City and Newkirk, Okla., died May 4 in Enid, Okla., at the home of his sister.
Born Oct. 28, 1935, in Florence, to Bill and Grace (Christy) Hodges, he lived in Florence until 1953 when he graduated from high school.
He joined the armed forces, serving in Korea, returning to Florence when his tour was completed. He worked in the family’s bulk milk hauling business and for Vickers Petroleum at Potwin.
He married Ruth Ellen Freeborn.
Dale was preceded in death by his mother, father, two brothers, and two sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Bob of Kingsport, Tenn., and Mike of Billings, Mont.; a daughter, Tammy Klinger of Ponca City; a sister, Claudette Druse of Enid; and seven grandchildren.
There was a private family service May 8 in Pawnee, Okla.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Circle of Care Hospice in Enid.
