Fundraisers set for families in wreck
Fundraisers have been started to assist the family of Alicia Warwick, killed in a Saturday night wreck at US-56 and K-15 south, her son, Jason Warwick-Ortiz, 14, severely injured, and his friend Gabe Glenn, 14, also severely injured.
Warwick failed to stop at a stop sign in heavy fog and the car struck a semi-trailer.
Both boys are in intensive care at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
A fundraiser for Warwick’s family was launched by Warwick’s cousin. It seeks to cover costs for Warwick’s funeral. The remainder is to be given to Jason’s father, Roy, to help with his son’s expenses.
The GoFundMe campaign for Jason and his family is at https://mnks.us/jason.
A fundraiser for Gabe and his family was launched by Roxanne Dallke.
It seeks to help with hospital and rehabilitation expenses as well as provide financial assistance for his father, Dustin, and Gabe’s sister to travel back and forth from Peabody to Wichita.
Dallke said anyone not comfortable donating online could reach out to her with gift cards that she would provide to the Glenn family.
