ndrew Topham of Peabody competed with 31 other long-distance runners March 6 and 7 in the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Ahtletics) Indoor Nationals at Johnson City, Tenn.

Garrard is a senior at Ottawa University and Topham is a sophomore at Southwestern College at Winfield.

Both finished among the top 12 in the semifinal 5K run to advance to the finals. Topham finished in ninth place and Garrard finished 10th.

In the finals, Garrard finished in 11th place and Topham finished 12th. The runners are preparing to compete May 23 in the 26.2-mile marathon at St. Louis, Mo.
