Getting in tip-top shape
Staff writer
Drivers in Marion were greeted Tuesday with a crane lifting supplies to the roof of a historic downtown building.
Workers with Wray Roofing are replacing the roof of the Donaldson Hosmer building, 318 E. Main St. Work is expected to be completed by Friday, owner Randy Collett said.
“It’s been leaking water onto the second floor more than a few years,” Collett said.
The building’s old roof was asphalt.
The new roof is vinyl. Workers will unroll it, overlap edges, and heat seal them.
The building has been listed on the national historic register for a year.
