Glenn Kyle

Glenn Edgar Kyle, 89, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita. He was born Oct. 6, 1924, in Chapman to Paul and Myrtle (Hawbecker) Kyle. He attended school in both Marion and Burns, graduating from Burns High School.

He married Betty Jane Walter on Sept. 6, 1945, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Burns. Glenn was a lifelong farmer and raised various livestock on his farm in rural Peabody. He had other part-time jobs throughout his life: driving a truck for Obee’s in Burns and Vickers Oil in Potwin and pumping oil wells for Bruce Oil Co. in rural Peabody.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Evelyn Beard and Phyllis Nedeau; and one brother, Ken Kyle. He is survived by his wife, Betty Kyle of Peabody; two sons, Daniel (Robin) Kyle of Florence and Robert (Becky) Kyle of Peabody; two grandsons, Broderick and Braxton Kyle of Peabody; and sister-in-law, Joyce Kyle of Burns.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Baker Funeral Home in Peabody. Rosary and funeral Mass were to be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Parish in Florence.

Interment will be at St. Margaret Mary Cemetery in Burns.

Memorial funds have been established with the Alzheimer’s Association and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.
