Goessel foundation gives awards
Seven programs will share $8,750 in grants from Goessel Community Foundation.
The grants were awarded at a ceremony April 26 at Goessel Elementary School. The awards were:
- $1,500 to the Goessel USD school district for Early Childhood Family Engagement Night. The event is an evening with hands-on activities that allow families with preschool children to become acquainted with educational resources early in life.
- $1,500 to Bethesda Home to assist its Friendship Meal Program.
- $1,500 to Goessel Public Library’s summer reading program, “Color Our World.” This year’s program will include an array of artistic expressions.
- $1,500 to Families and Communities Together’s Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The program provides free books for children ages up to 4.
- $1,000 to Marion County Core Community’s Youth Core Ministries, which provides classes and mentoring to help people build resources and get out of poverty.
- $1,000 to Kansas Learning Center for Health’s Creating a Healthier Tomorrow campaign. The outreach program will be presented at Goessel Elementary School.
- $750 to City of Goessel for improvement to its community room.
