Golfers from Marion, Centre, Goessel, and Hillsboro high schools braved the wind and cold Friday at the Marion County Invitational.
The invitational was played over 16 holes, split between the courses at Marion and Hillsboro.
Trojan golfer Daniel Kunantaev placed second in the tournament with a combined score of 156. He finished second in Marion with a round of 76, and fifth in Hillsboro, shooting an 80. Michael Gellerman, of Sterling, won the tournament with a score of 153.
Hillsboro finished sixth, Centre finished eighth, Goessel finished ninth, and Marion finished 10th out of 14 teams at the tournament. Other teams were Hesston, Topeka Hayden, Buhler, Halstead, Cheney, Wichita Trinity, Leon Bluestem, Council Grove, Sterling, and Wichita Collegiate.
Hesston finished first with an overall score of 666. Topeka Hayden, 667, and Buhler, 697, followed.
