Governor requests disaster declaration

Gov. Sam Brownback sent a letter Sept. 25 requesting the president declare 47 Kansas counties, including Marion County, federal disaster areas.

The request stems from storms from July 22 through Aug. 16 that caused massive damage and flooding throughout the state.
