Happy Hustlers

Happy Hustlers 4-H Club was called to order Aug. 7 at Marion Christian Church by Corin Parmley. Roll call was, “What was your favorite part of the fair?” There were 12 members, four leaders, and three parents in attendance.

Corin gave a treasurer’s report, saying that the balance was still $680.12.

In community leader reports, Justin said “good job” to everyone in the county fair, and Marsha talked about the possibility of an upcoming pool party and record books.

For new business, Tina Groening talked about doing something to promote 4-H at Marion Elementary open house Aug. 16.

Our club will be 75 years old. It was suggested we use the club’s 75th anniversary as a theme for a float in the Old Settlers Day Parade. There was a lot of discussion.

The club received a thank you note from Doris Winkler. Those in charge of the endowment fund have asked our club to donate.

Sara Groening led music appreciation with birthdays and the Beaver Song.

The next meeting will be 7 p.m. Sept. 4 at Marion Christian Church. The Zieammermann family is responsible for September refreshments.
