Happy Hustlers
Happy Hustlers 4-H Club met Nov. 2 at Marion Christian Church. Seven leaders, seven parents, two guests, and 24 members answered roll call with “favorite thing about celebrating Thanksgiving.”
The club received a $30 check from Farm Bureau for 4-H Awareness Week. The club also will buy two gifts for someone from a community charity tree.
Cassie Meyer brought a picnic basket and plans to bring mittens and fill the basket for a children’s home in Wichita.
Each member also is to bring two pieces of fruit and two dozen cookies to make Christmas plates for businesses around Marion that support 4-H activities.
At its next meeting, the club will have a gift exchange, and the price was set at no more than $7.
Lane Watkins led recreation, which included making paper airplanes and seeing whose could fly the farthest. Tristan Williams led the club in a birthday song and group singing.
The club still is searching for mentors/leaders for some projects.
The next meeting will be 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the church. The club will go caroling at nursing homes and the hospital, and will fix Christmas plates.
