Harold Fast
Services for Harold Eugene Fast, 94, who died Dec. 19, will begin with visitation and faspa at 4 p.m. followed by a send-off service at 5:45 p.m. Dec. 30 at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.
Burial will be 2 p.m. Dec. 31 at Adams MB Cemetery.
Born July 10, 1931, in Liberal, to David D. and Elizabeth (Suderman) Fast, he attended Hooker (later Adams) MB Church, was baptized in 1944, and graduated from Hardesty School in 1951.
He attended Tabor College for two years, served as a conscientious objector for one year as an orderly in the psychiatric ward of Denver General Hospital, and in 1966 he graduated from Wichita Automotive School.
In 1968, he moved to Meade, where he met and the next year married his wife, Anna. They also lived in several places in Oklahoma until Anna retired as a school cook and they moved to Hillsboro
She survives along with sons Steven of Hillsboro and Michael of Houston; siblings Viola Funk of Corn, Oklahoma, and Jacob of Guymon, Oklahoma; and four grandchildren.
Siblings Rose, David, and Mildred preceded him in death.
A memorial has been established with his niece, Sara Fast Kumrod, a Mennonite Brethren missionary with Multiply in Thailand.
