Harold Lefert

A memorial Mass for Harold August Lefert, 84, formerly of Burns, who died April 26, 2024, in Overland Park, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 201 W. 8th St., Florence.

A vigil will be at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 10. Rosary will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11.

He was born Aug. 15, 1939, in Newton to August G. and Grace L. (Strong) Lefert.

He spent his life farming in Burns. He could be found on a tractor, working cattle, gossiping at Glen’s Feed Store, or playing dominos.

Harold had many qualities, the best of these being his loyalty to his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon (Handle) Lefert, and his parents, August and Grace Lefert.

He is survived by his son, Roger (and wife Tracy), of Stilwell; daughter Darlene Davis of Ozark, Missouri; grandsons Ethan Lefert (and wife Jasmine) of Grandview, Missouri; Jared Lefert of Lenexa; Brandon Lefert of Charlottesville, Virginia; and Grant Davis and Luke Davis of Ozark, Missouri; brother Jerry Lefert of Des Moines; sister Christine Baker of Pratt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
