Harold Ohm

Retired Ramona farmer, restaurateur, and manufacturing worker Harold H. Ohm, 85, died July 27 at Medicalodges of Herington.

Born Feb. 27, 1925, near Delevan to Gustav F. and Hattie Emma (Rost) Ohm, he was raised in the Latimer area and married Betty L. Davis on April 3, 1952, at First Christian Church, Herington.

In addition to farming he worked at Tatge Manufacturing in Ramona; for the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad; and at Beech Aviation in Wichita.

He and his wife also owned and operated Ohm Restaurant in Ramona for more than 30 years.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Ramona until it closed.

A sister, Hildgard Andrews, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his widow, of Ramona; three daughters, Brenda Heuton and Jacqueline Richardson of Platte City, Mo., and Jo Ann Reicher of Hubertus, Wis.; a sister, Irene Riffle of Park City; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ramona. The Rev. Clark Davis officiated. Committal followed at Lewis Cemetery, Ramona.

Memorial funds have been established with Dickinson County Hospice and Trinity Church. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Chapel, Herington, was in charge of arrangements.
