Staff writer
Inexpensive lab tests by Hillsboro Community Hospital and St. Luke Hospital will be featured 8 to 11 a.m. Nov. 1 at the 2025 Marion County Health Fair at Shari Flaming Center for the Arts at Lincoln and B streets in Hillsboro.
Four tests — comprehensive metabolic panel, lipid panel, complete blood count with differential, and thyroid-stimulating hormone tests — will be available for $35 total.
Additional tests like prostate specific antigen for men ages 40 and older, hemoglobin A1C, and free-thyroxine tests also are available for $15 each.
Lab results will be mailed within one to two weeks.
The department also will offer the latest COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine for people ages 65 and older along with Fluzone, Flublok for ages 50 to 64, and high-dose flu vaccines for people ages 65 and older.
The department bills most major insurance companies. Anyone ordering shots is being asked to bring his or her primary insurance card and driver’s license.
Options are available for people who do not have insurance. Cash, check, and credit cards will be accepted.
Live music will be performed throughout the morning.
Performers will include Bob Delk and Friends from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and a piano set from Tabor student Bo Elsey from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
Chiropractor Troy Fox of Fox Chiropractic will present at 10 a.m. a “shocking” way to treat pain, showcasing shockwave therapy for managing pain and arthritis.
BreatheDeepWorks and Davis Therapeutic Massage, both of Peabody, will offer free, 15-minute massages throughout the fair.
Level Up and Next Level Nutrition will have samples of nutritional drinks.
Legacy Eyecare will clean and adjust glasses.
Safe Hope will give out popcorn.
Adrienne’s Coffee Shop will offer pastries and an array of specialty drinks at $1 off.
More than $1,000 in prizes from 30 exhibitors will be awarded at the close of the event. Awards include gift cards valued up to $100, complimentary services, gift baskets, and more.
The fair is sponsored by HCH, Marion County Health Department, and St. Luke Hospital.
