Help with taxes, tests offered

Help with taxes and with obtaining free COVID tests is available from Marion County’s department on aging.

Taxpayers with annual incomes of less than $60,000 can drop forms off at Marion Senior Center and the department will prepare returns for them the week of Feb. 1.

Full-year Kansas residents with household incomes of $36,600 or less who were born before 1966 also may call for assistance with homestead refunds.

Refunds also are available to those meeting the income and residency requirement who were legally disabled or blind for all of 2021 or had a child age 18 or younger living with them all year.

Residents without computer access also may receive help applying for free COVID-19 tests from the federal government.

More information is available from the department at (620) 382-3580.
