Hess wins seniors tourney

Bryan Hess led all golfers at Marion Country Club’s seniors tournament last week with an 18-hole total of 67.

A total of 27 golfers competed in the age-50-and-older tournament, which had flights for five age groups.

Hess won in the flight for golfers age 50 to 59. Kirk Homburg was second with a 72. Larry Davis was third at 73.

Tim Christensen won among golfers age 60 to 64 with a score of 80. Greg Carlson was a shot behind at 81.

Roy Miller’s 77 took first place among golfers ages 65 to 69. He was followed by Craig Jones, 84, and Alan Stewart, 88.

Ben Wittig also scored 77 to lead the 70-to-74-year-old group. Ken Butler was second at 79, and Milt Fowler was third at 80.

In the 75-and-older group, Harold Oakleaf led with 84, followed by Ralph Bowman with 85.
