Hett, Harper named to all-HOA team
Marion High School basketball players Jordan Hett and Jacob Harper earned selections to the postseason Heart of America League first team.
The Marion duo joined Trey Unrau of Moundridge, Caleb Cherryholmes and Caleb Tanner of Remington, Cameron Rust of Berean Academy, and Logan Thompson of Sedgwick on the honors squad.
“I am very happy for both of them as I certainly feel they were both deserving,” Marion head coach Jeff McMillin said.
“Jordan came into the season as an established player and had to produce despite having full attention of the opposing team and was many times guarded by the other teams best defender,” McMillin said.
“Jacob came in as a relative unknown and quickly asserted himself as one of the best players in the league,” McMillin said.
McMillin attributed their success in large part to the work they put in during the off-season last year.
“Both played a lot of basketball and worked on their individual games a ton over the summer,” McMillin said. “I am extremely excited to see the progress they, as well as their teammates, can make with another great off-season of work.”
