Hillsboro FFA earns top honors

A senior team of FFA members from Hillsboro High School won a district dairy cattle judging contest Oct. 18 at the Harvey County fairgrounds.

Colby Suderman, Kenzie Meisinger, Dallas Whorton, and Clairy Morey placed first overall.

Hillsboro’s second team of Reese Duerksen, Cassidy Bernhardt, Adi Winter, and Cooper Hefley placed 12th.

Individually, Reese placed second, and Kenzie was fifth. 

Greenhand members Emma Bartel, Makenna Fenske, Brookleyn Thiessen, and Piper Odle also participated.

A week later, Hillsboro’s senior team of Reese, Adi, Claudia Soo Hoo and Claire finished second in a milk quality and products event at Harper.

Dallas and Colby also participated in the senior division. Makenna, who placed second individually, and Emma participated in the Greenhand Division.
