Hillsboro foundation awards $23,000 in grants
Hillsboro Community Foundation this month announced $23,000 in grants for city and county initiatives.
These foundation focuses on projects that address critical community needs, promote education, enhance recreational opportunities, and improve the overall well-being of Hillsboro residents.
Grant recipients and their projects include:
- City of Hillsboro — $2,800 for new Memorial Park water fountains.
- Court Appointed Special Advocates of 8th Judicial District — $500 for program awareness.
- Families and Communities Together of Marion County — $2,500 for family financial assistance network.
- Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church — $1,500 to launch a community food pantry.
- Hillsboro Public Library — $4,640 for new shelving and fee supplement for summer and fall reading programs.
- Hillsboro Recreation Commission — $1,500 for after-school programs.
- Hillsboro United Methodist Church — $2,500 for a youth snack pack program.
- Kansas Learning Center for Health — $700 for health education at Hillsboro Elementary School.
- Marion County Core Community — $1,860 for operation expenses.
- Parkside Homes — $1,000 for new sound equipment.
- South Cottonwood 4-H Club — $1,000 for club scholarship program.
- Studio 23 Dance — $1,200 for low-income family scholarships and music licensing.
- USD 410 band department — $1,300 for new double podium.
