The other county school involved, Goessel, placed fourth.

Hillsboro

The Trojans were led by senior Lincoln Wichert, who took seventh place individually.

Braxton Hiebert placed 15th, Jake Sibayan tied for 17th with Peyton Millers, and Nate Hill placed 21st. Reese Duerksen placed 32nd.

“It’s still very early in the season and we have plenty to continue to work on,” coach Scott O’Hare said. “These first few weeks have given us a great opportunity to learn what the kids are capable of and what they need to work on most.

“A few things we will be focusing on is short game scoring, course management, eliminating big numbers on any given hole, and the mental approach to the game.”

Hillsboro’s next meet will be Monday at Sterling.

Teammates Anthony Boden (12th), Colby Nafziger (29th), and Jack Nickel (33rd) rounded out the team for the Bluebirds.
