Hillsboro man continues New Testament translation

Retired pastor Bob Fenstermacher of Hillsboro has completed his translation of and exposition on Revelation in his effort to translate the entire New Testament from Greek.

He has also completed his translation of 1 John. He is working on his exposition on the book. When he finishes with 1 John he will begin translating 2 John — naturally.

When he completes 2 John and 3 John, he plans to translate Hebrews.

In a little less than two years, he has translated and written expositions on James, Jude, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, and Revelation.

Fenstermacher began translating the New Testament after he had a stroke in late 2008. He said he had an epiphany in which God revealed he should translate the New Testament.

His wife, Helen, said a friend is using Fenstermacher’s translations while teaching at a university in Jerusalem.

Anyone interested in reading his translations or expositions can contact Fenstermacher at (620) 947-3423 or e-mail him at fensty@embarqmail.com.
