Hillsboro police

Oct. 29: A theft complaint was taken in the 200 block of Willow Street. Officers arrested a juvenile on a pick up and detain order; the juvenile was transported to the proper facility. A report of someone selling door to door without a permit was taken.

Oct. 30: A loud noise was reported in the area of Second and Adams Street; the witness described the sound as similar to a shotgun being discharged. An opossum was reported in a garage in the 200 block of South Main Street. A person reported receiving scam phone calls from Jamaica. Tabor College reported finding 200 pumpkins on school property; the pumpkins had been stolen from the area and left at one of the dorms as a prank. Officers assisted a McPherson person who wanted a civil stand-by for a child custody exchange.

Thursday: Officers assisted the city code enforcement officer with removing junk from a residence.

Saturday: Officers checked a child welfare concern in the area of B and Elm streets. A person was reported selling door to door without a permit. Officers provided a civil stand-by in the 100 block of West B Street.
