Police report

Jan. 31: Suspicious activity was reported in the 200 block of North Main Street. A commercial alarm was activated in Hillsboro Heights. An abandoned bicycle was recovered at C and Eisenhower streets.

Feb. 1: Marion County Health Department received assistance. Assistance was provided to Social and Rehabilitative Services with an investigation. A civil standby was provided in the 200 block of South Cedar Street. Assistance was provided to court services officers with home visits and a fire investigator in the 300 block of South Cedar Street. A welfare concern was reported in the 400 block of South Birch Street. An officer instructed a DARE class at Hillsboro Elementary School. An individual was arrested in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street on an outstanding warrant. An individual reported that someone had entered her dormitory room in the 400 block of North Jefferson Street and removed a Web camera and clothing. The loss was estimated at $130.

Feb. 2: Marion County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with an emergency message. A welfare check was provided at Hillsboro Heights when an angry customer left a business, causing the employee to become concerned for his welfare. Wichita Police Department received assistance with an investigation. SRS received assistance with an investigation. A welfare check was provided in the 400 block of South Main Street. An emergency message was delivered in the 400 block of South Main Street.

Feb. 3: An activated residential panic alarm was checked in the 600 block of South Main Street. A traffic complaint was filed in the 500 block of East C Street. Kansas Bureau of Investigation received assistance. A suspicious person was reported in the 100 block of East Grand Avenue. A motorist received assistance at Ash and B streets.

Thursday: An individual reported that someone used a sharp object to scratch obscenities into the paint of a vehicle while parked in a lot in the 400 block of South Date Street. The damage was estimated at $400. An officer taught a DARE class at HES. A sheriff’s deputy received assistance with a non-injury accident at U.S. 56 and Santa Fe Street. Assistance was provided to a motorist in the 400 block of North Ash Street. A dog complaint was filed in the 300 block of South Ash Street. KBI received assistance.

Friday: McPherson County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with an investigation. An individual was removed from a business in the 800 block of East D Street because of non-payment. Assistance was provided to a court services officer. A city hall civil process was delivered. An officer observed the repossession of a vehicle in the 100 block of South Adams Street. A suspicious person was checked. A motorist received assistance at Hillsboro Industrial Park.

Saturday: An activated commercial alarm was checked in Hillsboro Heights. A telephone harassment complaint was filed in the 300 block of North Ash Street. A protection from abuse violation was reported in the 200 block of West B Street.
