Historic pages, quilts to be featured

More than 25 quilts from local quilters will be on display Monday through March 21 at. Marion City Library.

Framed historic local newspaper pages also will be on display throughout the library and available for purchase in a silent auction.

The auction will feature original Marion newspaper pages dating from 1886 to 1949, offering a rare glimpse into Marion’s early days with advertising ads from local businesses.

Visitors attending the quilt show will have the opportunity to browse and bid on these preserved pieces of Marion history.

The auction will provide an opportunity for residents, historians, collectors, and genealogy researchers to own a physical piece of Marion’s past.

Proceeds from the silent auction will support the library’s ongoing community programming effort.

More information is available from the library during regular business hours at (620) 382-2442.
