Adam Janzen placed the tiara on Kaylie Waner’s head, and then they hugged in front of the crowd at Sports and Aquatic Center. The 2015 Homecoming King and Queen were announced Tuesday evening before the boys’ basketball team defeated Remington 62-60.

Janzen, who played football and wrestling for four years and track for one year, said his most memorable high school moment was winning the most outstanding wrestler award at the Halstead Tournament.

Waner, who participated in band four years and track and basketball three years, said she looks up to her grandparents because despite their struggles they have stuck together in a loving relationship. “They have shown me what it really is to be strong,” Waner said.

Other candidates for king and queen included Seth Snelling and Bret Voth, and Miran Stephenson and Madison Stephen.
