Hyper-local weather online

As severe weather season gets into full swing, you can turn to each of the three Hoch Publishing newspaper websites for the most timely, hyper-local weather information available.

No longer do readers have to be content with hour-old data from airports in Wichita, Newton, Salina or Emporia. Each individual website is programmed to gather its own local conditions in real time from a weighted average of half a dozen automated reporting stations throughout the county.

Each of the three newspapers also features a separate, six-day, pinpoint forecast for its immediate environment rather than reporting some generic countywide or regional average.

In addition, the sites contain up-to-the-second full-text information about watches and warnings issued by the National Weather Service — just as fast as special weather radios — plus the exact same live local radar loop, zoomed in on Marion County, that many local TV stations rebrand with different graphics and use as their own radar during weathercasts and bulletins.

Simply click MORE… then WEATHER on our website. At peak times, the site may take a couple of seconds to survey all the sources it consults, but after a brief loading period will provide the absolute latest and most local weather data available anywhere.
