Ada Seifert

Ada Mae Seifert, 89, of Topeka passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019.

She was born March 10, 1929, in Woodward, Oklahoma. Ada was the daughter of William Ernest and Edith Grace Cavin Oehlert of Salina, Kansas.

Ada graduated from Washington High School in Salina in 1947. Ada grew up and lived in Salina, Kansas, from 1937 to 1965, when she moved with her husband, John Wooster, and four daughters to Topeka. Ada and John were married for 27 years when they divorced. 

Ada met Dennis Seifert of Marion, Kansas, at a function at the First Baptist Church in Topeka, where they were members. They married in 1978. 

Ada worked for Shawnee Community Mental Health, where she was the finance manager for more than 15 years.

Ada and Dennis moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1991 to enjoy their retirement. Dennis and Ada moved back to Topeka in 2012. They are members of the Eastside Baptist church in Topeka. 

Survivors include her husband, Dennis J. Seifert; daughters, Cynthia “Suzie” Johnson and husband, Rick, of Kansas City, Kansas, Linda Hardesty, Jane Warkentine, and Lorrie Dickey and her husband, Mike, of Topeka; stepsons Barry Seifert and wife, Joy, of Minot, North Dakota, Bradley Seifert and wife, Tammy, of Junction City; stepdaughters Teresa Loney and husband, John of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, Lisa Seifert, Kansas City, Kansas, Janice Seifert and Melinda Seifert, McPherson; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Ada bequeathed her body to the University of Kansas Medical School. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Feb. 28, 2019 at Eastside Baptist Church, SE 29th and Pauline Road in Topeka.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka is assisting the family.
