Delores Johnston

Services for Delores Ollenburger Johnston of Fairview, Texas, were June 25 in Allen, Texas.

Delores passed away June 22 at the age of 79.

She was born July 12, 1941, to Arthur and Mary (Bolte) Ollenburger in El Dorado. She graduated from Durham High School. She earned her associate’s degree in cosmetology and attended Washburn University in Topeka.

Delores worked in Topeka for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas for more than 30 years until her retirement.

She was a fashionista, wine connoisseur, social butterfly, and life of the party. Delores was the beloved matriarch of her family. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) in Topeka.

She is survived by her companion, Bill Belous; daughters Mary (and husband Lloyd) Cooper of Fairview, Texas, and Kim (and husband Bob) Sumpter of Topeka; sons Micheal Johnston of McKinney, Texas; Tony (and wife Cheri) Johnston of Topeka; and Eddie (and fiancé Patricia) Johnston of Topeka; grandchildren Emily, Aprilynn, Jeremy, Cody, Justin, Alex, Michael, Caleb, Joshua, Raeahnna, Zoie, Zion; great-grandchildren, Ian, Owen, Violet, Phoebe, Zoey, Azale, Hazel, Ryla, Madison, Levi, Zack, Kaiyleana, Lily, Silas, Joseph, Jeremy Ray, Jaiyden, and Abigail; sister-in-law Doris Ollenburger; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Mary; husband, Ray Johnston; sons Michael A. Johnston and Mark Belous; and brothers Robert and Dean Ollenburger.

Interment was scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka.
