Esther Funk

Services for Esther M. Funk, 86, who passed away July 13, 2021, at Bethesda Home, Goessel, were Saturday, July 17, 2021.

Burial was at 1 p.m. at Haven of Rest Cemetery, Hillsboro, followed by a celebration of life service at 2 p.m. at Trinity Mennonite Church, Hillsboro.

Visitation with family was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2021, at Jost Funeral Home.

Born April 9, 1935, near Ulysses, Kansas, to Albert and Anna (Ratzloff) Frantz, she was a graduate of Tampa High School.

On Sept. 21, 1954, she was united in marriage to Eldon R. Funk. She was a church secretary for many years.

Brothers Daniel and David Frantz and great-grandson Caleb Eckhart preceded her in death.

She is lovingly survived by husband Eldon of Hillsboro; sons Gerald (and wife Carolyn) of Salina, Donovan (and wife Pati) of Hillsboro, and Bryan of Beatrice, Nebraska; daughter Janice (and husband Delton) Voth of rural Goessel; siblings Leonard (and wife Jan) Frantz of Hillsboro, Jonas (and wife Kim) Frantz of Tampa, and Edith Unruh of Enid, Oklahoma; sisters-in-law Mary Ann Frantz of Tampa and Delores Frantz of Durham; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial funds have been established with Bethesda Home and Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Jost Funeral Home, PO Box 266, Hillsboro KS, 67063.
