Francis Steiner
Services for Francis T. Steiner, 85, Tampa, who passed away Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, at Village Manor in Abilene, will be Thursday, Nov. 13, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Abilene.
Rosary will begin at 10 a.m. and the funeral at 10:30 a.m., followed by a luncheon.
Relatives will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. the evening before at Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, Abilene.
Francis was born May 4, 1940, near Durham to Ralph and Anne (Reznicek) Steiner.
On April 15, 1961, he was united in marriage to Rita Silhan in Marion.
Francis farmed and raised cattle northwest of Durham for more than 60 years. He enjoyed hunting, trapping, and fishing around the Marion County area.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rita, of the home; three sons, John (and wife Lisa) Steiner of Abilene, Ron Steiner of Tampa, and Ken Steiner of Colorado Springs; a granddaughter, Kirsten (and husband Tom) Horacek of Simpson; three great-grandchildren, Tommy Lee, Adalyn, and Lance Horacek; three step-grandchildren, Justin, Cody and Tyler Goding; and siblings Kathleen Oborny, Joyce Buckley, Barbara Rodriguez, Veronica (and husband Jerry) Base, Margaret Bailey, and Ralph G. (and wife Ida) Steiner.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Father Kapaun Legacy Fund or to St. Andrew’s Catholic School.
