Garry Vogel

A private graveside service is planned at Strassburg Cemetery for Garry P. Vogel, 81, who passed away Nov. 18, 2023, at St. Luke Hospital, Marion.

His family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2023, at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro.

He was born Jan. 4, 1942, in Hillsboro to Paul and Bertha (Bernhardt) Vogel and was a 1959 graduate of Marion High School.

He served his country with the U.S. Army Reserve. He married to Georgie Helmer. To this union, two daughters were born. On September 15, 1979, he was united in marriage to Marcia Raleigh. They would blend their families.

He was a farmer and cattleman but also was a truck driver, water well man, butcher, and manufacturer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Darla Gore.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia Vogel, of Marion; his daughter Jamie McDonald and her husband, James, of Wichita; stepchildren Ryan Walker (and wife Darci) of McPherson and Gail Boaldin of Marion; 12 grandchildren; and 25-plus great-grandchildren.
