JoAnn Youngblood

A memorial service for JoAnn Phyllis Youngblood, 91, Arvada, Colorado, who passed away March 28, 2026, will be 2 p.m. May 21 at Ralston Creek Church, 6425 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada, Colorado.

Born April 6, 1934, south of Marion to John and Agnes (Remple) Dyck, JoAnn spent many years as a dietary supervisor at Bethel Hospital in Newton and delivered the Newton Kansan in Peabody.

In her later years she made quilts for relatives and her church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Earl, Harold and Jerry; her sister, Betty Jantz; her husband, Verlin; sons Gary and Galen; and grandson Shane, whom she and Verlin raised as their own.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Shirley, and Tracy’s husband, John, of Westminster, Colorado.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to her church in her name.
