Julie Anderson

A celebration of life for Julie Renee (Brandt) Anderson, 61, who passed away Dec. 10, 2023, after a long battle with cancer, was scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023, at First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro.

Julie was born June 27, 1962, to Grace and Raymond Brandt in Goessel.

She married soon after graduating from Hillsboro High School and had a son, Dustin. She also had a second son, Zachary, from a following marriage.

Julie met Lloyd Anderson in June, 2002, and they were married June 25, 2005.

She worked at Barkman Honey offices for 30 years in various roles.

Julie first was diagnosed with cancer in 2006 and successfully battled the disease until it returned in 2017. She valiantly battled it up to her death.

She is survived by husband, Lloyd Anderson and by sons Dustin Hendricks (and daughter-in-law Laura) of Canton, Zach Anderson (and Haley Rudolph) of Hillsboro, and Andrew Anderson (and Cheyenne) of Kingston, Oklahoma.

Also surviving are grandchildren Cohen and Cade Hendricks and Kenton, Katelynn, and Lexi Anderson; father Raymond Brandt (and wife Rosie) of Newton; sister Laurie Luken (and brother-in-law Joe) of Cincinnati; brother Mike Brandt (and wife Deb) of Hillsboro.

Additional survivors include nieces Amelia Brandt of Baltimore; Emily Luken of Chicago; Meghan Brandt of Lowell, Arkansas; and Heather Luken of Sandusky, Ohio; in-laws Rosalie McCune, Sheila Ouellette (and husband Jerry), Doug Anderson (and wife Amy), and Tom Anderson (and wife Karla); and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Brandt; grandparents David and Lydia Ewert and William and Anna Brandt; father-in-law Ken McCune; and grandparents-in-law Henry and Oda Christiansen and Jake and Paula Hemstrom.
