Margie Williams

Family will gather with friends at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at the Christian Church in Florence to remember Margie Sue Williams, 92, Cedar Point, who passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024, in Wichita,

A visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, at Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, Marion.

Margie’s life began Dec. 25, 1931, in Harrell, Arkansas. Her parents were Clark and Media (Rinehart) Thompson.

Margie graduated from Harrell High School in 1949 and was united in marriage June 23, 1953, in Harrell to Billy Joe Williams.

She worked for a time as a machinist in Harrell before the family moved to Kansas.

Margie was an avid sports fan, enjoying basketball, softball, baseball, and volleyball, and was a member of Florence Christian Church.

Margie is survived by children Gary (and wife Terry) Williams of Goddard and Gayle (and husband Will) Soyez of Goddard; grandchildren Carl (and wife Becca) Williams, Elliott J. Soyez, and Samantha (and husband DeAlan) Hicks; and great grandchildren Sadie, Lucy, Theodore, SaMiyah, and DeMeir.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Juliann and Thelma.

Memorial contributions in Margie’s name may be directed to Florence Christian Church or Keepsake Cottage.
