Mildred Bowers
Services for Mildred (Osman) Bowers, 106, who passed away July 3, 2026, at Chase County Care and Rehabilitation, Cottonwood Falls, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls.
Relatives will greet friends from 1 p.m. until the service. Burial will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Cottonwood Falls.
Mildred was born June 7, 1920, in Cedar Point to Ernest and Georgia (Zickefosse) Osman.
On March 23, 1941, she and Roland Bowers were married at Cedar Point Methodist Church. Two children were born to the couple, Donald Eugene and Myrna Marie.
They made their home on a farm north of Cedar Point. Later years they built a home and lived at the Marion County Lake.
Mildred and family went with Roland and a combine crew to Oklahoma and Nebraska. She was cook, truck driver, and errand lady.
She and her mother were cooks at Cedar Point Grade School for 18 years. She loved playing piano “by ear” and doing embroidery work.
Her husband died July 24, 1995. Also preceding her in death were her parents, sister Erma, and brother Dean.
Survivors include son Don Bowers and wife Janet of Marion; daughter Myrna Goswick and husband George; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren with her first great-great-grandchild on the way.
