Robert Hartley

A memorial service for Robert J. Hartley, 74, Marion, who passed away June 25 at his home, will be led by pastor Jeff Lee of Aulne Church at 10 a.m. Saturday at Marion Cemetery.

Robert’s life began Oct. 20, 1946, in Eureka. He was a son of Robert and Maxine (Williams) Hartley. Robert’s family moved to California in his youth, and he was a graduate of Excelsior High School in the Los Angeles area.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator for most of his life and owned a carwash in Marion for a few years. Robert loved fishing at Marion County Lake and attending his grandchildren’s activities.

His greatest joy was his family, including children Rob Hartley of Marion, and Vicki Kay (and husband Michael) Williams of Marion; grandchildren Blake Crawford of Wichita, Seth Crawford of Wichita, Falon Crawford of Wichita, and Quade Williams of Marion; sister Rita Dunlap of Mulvane; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Sharon Farrington.

Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, Marion, is serving the family. Memorial contributions in Robert’s name may be directed to the Marion County Lake Memorial Fund in care of Yazel-Megli Funeral Home.
