Rodney Heath

Graveside services for Rodney A. Heath 62, who died Monday, Feb. 21, 2022, at his Goessel residence were Monday at Sunnydale Park Cemetery, rural Sedgwick County.

He was born June 15, 1959, in Newton to Joe C. and Elizabeth (Erwin) Heath.

On May 7, 1983, he married Virginia Foiles in Newton. She survives.

Rodney worked as a welder at Excel Industries in Hesston. His interests included antique Ford pickups, tractors, and his beloved Kansas City Chiefs. He enjoyed participating in Goessel Threshing Days and was a member of Wheat Co.

His greatest joy was his family. He looked forward to fishing trips at Harvey County East Lake and Maxwell Lake. In his younger years, he camped with his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father. He had a special love for his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Virginia; sons Ron Heath, Brian Heath (and wife Nanci), Scott Tingen (and wife Wendy), Ricky Tingen (and wife Laree), Mark Tingen (and wife Spring), and Bobby Tingen (and wife Ingrid); daughter Jennifer Lyn Phillips (and husband Chris); brother Elmer Heath (and wife Deidre); sister Neva Kreutziger (and husband Wayne); brothers-in-law Ron Foiles (and wife Judy) and Bob Foiles; sister-in-law Opal Queen; 23 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth Bonham and Joe Heath, and his brother and sister-in-law Harland and Goldie Fosket.

A memorial fund has been established with Wheat Co. sawmill building. Contributions may be left with Petersen Funeral Home.
