Stanley Wiens

Memorial services for Stanley R. Wiens, 89, Hesston, who passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, at Schowalter Villa, will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, at Hesston Mennonite Church.

Private burial will take place at Goessel Church Cemetery.

Born Aug. 23, 1936, in Goessel to Cornelius “Kurt” and Marie (Schmidt) Wiens, he graduated from Goessel High School with the class of 1954.

Stanley was united in marriage Sept. 15, 1955, to Arlene E. Klassen. They shared 49 years of marriage before her passing Nov. 23, 2004. He later married Rebecca “Becky” Roth on April 9, 2011.

Stanley worked as shop manager of the engineering department at Hesston Corp. He also worked in maintenance at Bethel College. Alongside his work, he also was a wheat farmer.

Stanley was a member of Goessel Church, where he was in church leadership. He most recently was attending Hesston Mennonite Church.

He sang in the Mennonite Men’s Chorus for 56 years and was a member of the Goessel school board for 12 years.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Roth of Hesston; children Donna (and husband Brad) Oswald of Gardner, Marla Wiens (and Aaron Gragg) of Holton, Dale (and wife Cynthia) Wiens of North Newton, and James Wiens of Wichita; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister Leanna (and husband Tom) Laswell of Newton.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Arlene Wiens; and sisters Norma Hiebert and Verda Wedel.
