Marion police reported the following incidents:

Criminal damage to property

Someone damaged the windows at The Big Scoop, 616 E. Main St., Marion, on April 19. The incident was reported April 27. The damage was estimated at $95.

Driving while license suspended

At 2:35 p.m. May 8, a driver was stopped in the 100 block of East Main Street, Marion, by an officer for driving while the license was revoked.

Felony theft

Someone broke into a residence at 10 a.m. May 14 at 118 W. Santa Fe St., Marion, and took items that belonged to Hector Cardenas of Fremont, Neb. Items taken included jewelry, a television, clothes chest, bed frame, air compressor, three-wheeled bicycle, two-wheel trailer, and a six-foot ice cooler. The total loss was estimated at $2,785.

The sheriff reported the following incidents:

Racing, reckless driving

An individual went to Centre High School, 2380 310th Road, Lincolnville, at noon April 18 to talk to his former girlfriend. When she refused to talk with him, the individual left the school, spinning his tires, running a stop sign as he was leaving the parking lot, and nearly struck another vehicle.

Failed to wait for pilot car

A driver on U.S. 56 near Lehigh failed to wait for a pilot car at 2:40 p.m. April 26, to escort his vehicle through one-lane of road construction. The driver caused a pilot car to stop to avoid a head-on collision.

Failed to stop for school bus

A school bus driver for USD 408 reported that when she stopped to pick up a student May 2, a vehicle slowed down but did not stop and continued around the school bus, despite flashing lights and a stop sign on the bus.

Criminal use of financial card

Phyllis Mitchell, 101 Ohio St., Burns, reported May 3 someone used her debit card without her permission.

Criminal damage to property

Two stop sign posts were discovered broken at 30th and Mustang roads May 9. The signs, owned by Marion County road department, were valued at $150.

Felony theft

A boat and motor were taken May 10. The report did not indicate the location of the offense. The 1981 green Lowe boat and 20-hp outboard motor were valued at $4,000 and owned by Dale L. Leach of McPherson.

Burglary

Three dollars in change was taken May 14 from 2111 Schlotthauer Road, Marion. Doyle D. Chapman of Wichita reported the theft.

A storage building was broken into May 14 at 2202 Pawnee Road, Marion. Thieves broke into a fifth-wheel travel trailer and a boat in the building and removed a television and fishing pole owned by Menno Henry Neufeld, 2127 Kruse Road, Marion. The loss was valued at $125.
