James A. “Jim” Druse, 80, of El Dorado, died Feb. 24 at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis St., Wichita.
He was born Oct. 11, 1930, the eldest son of Charles and Palma (Young) Druse. He grew up in Marion County and graduated in 1948 from Marion High School.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952.
On Feb. 10, 1952, he married Eilene Hansen.
He was a retired refinery worker.
His wife, Eilene, brother Bob, and two great-grandchildren preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, James “Bud” Jr. of Marion and Dennis of El Dorado; two daughters, Cindy Ruthloff of Douglass and Janet Berry of Pretty Prairie; three brothers, Tom of Enid, Okla., Ron of Topeka, and Don of Marion; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services with military rites will be at 11 a.m. today at Grant Township Cemetery, rural Marion.
A memorial has been established with VFW in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.
