Janzen, Palic garner All-State honors

Running back Adam Janzen and linebacker Kyle Palic were honored as All-State selections for class 2A.

Both players were seniors.

“We had a couple kids that we thought were very deserving of the award and it’s good to see them get recognized for the work they put into football,” Thierolf said.

Janzen was the motor of Marion’s offense, running for more than 1,000 yards for his second consecutive season.

Palic, meanwhile, was a defensive anchor for the Warriors at the middle linebacker position, laying down big hits on opposing players all season long.

Thierolf said it was a reflection on the team as a whole that it was able to produce All-State selections on offense and defense.

“If Adam’s offensive line doesn’t block well, he doesn’t get very many yards,” he said. “Just very happy for both those kids.”
