Jerald Dean Unruh, 69, of Hillsboro died Feb. 2, 2012 at Parkside Homes, Hillsboro.

He was born Jan. 13, 1943, in Wichita to Walter and Marcella (Groening) Unruh. He was an auto mechanic and rancher.

He married Kaylene Johnson on July 12, 1968, in Tulare, Calif.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Jonelle Ensign of Aledo, Texas, and Shannon Smart of St. Charles, Mo.; three sisters, Anabel DeWit of South Africa, Sherry Jost of rural Peabody, and LaDonna Balzer of Inman; and two grandchildren.

He was buried Saturday at Ebenfeld Cemetery, rural Hillsboro. A funeral service was at Ebenfeld Church, rural Hillsboro, officiated by Pastor Gaylord Goertzen. The family received visitors Friday at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro.
