Kansas State University heptathlete and Marion High School alumna Julia Zeiner has been named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association all-academic team.
To qualify for the team, an athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or better and must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships, including preliminary rounds.
Zeiner completed her first year at K-State with a 3.607 GPA in kinesiology, and placed sixth in the heptathlon at the Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Her score of 5,142 points ranked her in the top 10 in school history and 42nd in the nation for the season.
